George Rosett Editing Services

Who am I?
My name is George Rosett. For more than six years I’ve worked as an editor for books, essays, and short fiction. I provide everything from major revisions to final polishes and am devoted to supporting my clients in every step of the process. My priority is always to preserve the author’s voice, clarifying and honing the story they’re trying to tell without losing any of their unique tone and intention.
As a writer, my work has been published in The White Whale Review, Five, and Passwords: A Literary Magazine. Several of my scripts have been shortlisted on the CoverFly Red List and are currently in production, and I’m writing a feature film that will be shot next spring.

I’m currently completing my MSt in Creative Writing at Oxford University and my MFA in Screenwriting at Chapman University. I also hold a BA in English Literature and Art History from Scripps College.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, cooking, and roaming museums.

Development Edits
You have a rough first draft (or maybe just a semi-detailed outline!), but aren’t sure where to go from there.
I help flesh out the structure and ideas, stress-testing the storyline or arguments to ensure continuity and flow. I suggest major cuts, reshuffling, or additions to help you fully realize your vision.
Content Edits
You have a complete draft, but need detailed feedback and a sharp eye for consistency, tone, flow, and structure.
I provide all of the above, offering feedback and corrections on a paragraph level while ensuring that your voice remains unique and your ideas uncompromised.
Line Edits
You have a finished draft and want to make sure that each sentence is polished, flowing, and absolutely error-free.
I dig into the nitty-gritty details of grammar, spelling, word choice, and sentence structure to make sure that every line of your book is perfect.

Coaching Sessions
You're interested not just in edits, but in gaining tools that will improve your writing skills. You want to explore different techniques and styles and place them within a broader literary context.Â
I meet with you for personalized, one-on-one coaching sessions to give you  thorough and thoughtful feedback and exercises to take your writing to the next level.
